The Niger Delta Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) successfully hosted a high-level Business Roundtable focused on accelerating economic growth and redefining the development trajectory of the Niger Delta region.
The event, held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was themed “Creating a New Development Agenda for the Niger Delta Region.”
The roundtable brought together a diverse group of key stakeholders, including business leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and development partners from across the region. Discussions centered on practical, forward-looking strategies to promote sustainable development and unlock the region’s economic potential.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of NDCCITMA, Ambassador Idaere Gogo Ogan, expressed gratitude to God for the success of the event and the safe arrival of participants. He warmly welcomed attendees from across the country, highlighting the critical role of unity, collaboration, and shared vision in addressing the socio-economic challenges facing the Niger Delta.
Ambassador Ogan also acknowledged the presence of distinguished dignitaries, notably the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku (PhD), the Executive Director of Finance and Administration (EDFA), Hon. Boma Iyaye, as well as other senior officials and directors in attendance.
The roundtable provided a dynamic platform for meaningful dialogue, innovative ideas, and strategic partnerships. It further underscored NDCCITMA’s unwavering commitment to fostering inclusive growth, strengthening regional cooperation, and driving sustainable economic transformation across the Niger Delta.
